A Fashion District in Downtown LA?

Chances are you have heard about Santee Alley and FIDM, but did you know that LA's Fashion District is one of the biggest destinations for wholesale buyers, retail shoppers, designers, fashion students and Hollywood stylists? It's a hidden treasure for those looking for a bargain or inspiration to start a new fashion trend. Downtown residents know this and take full advantage of this evolving neighborhood.

Local Downtowner Dustin Anderson is an example of how a vision or inspiration can be brought to life when living in the Fashion District.

Over 1.5 million people from all around the world visit the District every year. Generally, the hours of business are from 9am to 6pm Monday through Sunday. However, with Downtown's residential population on the rise and new revitalization projects being made by the city, the Fashion District is positioned to become a 24 hour destination.

You never know what you will find in the heart of the Fashion District.

So if you're ever in the neighborhood and want to do a little shopping, don't forget to check out Santee Alley and the many more amazing things to do just around the corner.

Fashion is not always what it is but what it WILL BE. Looking at today's fashion trends one cant help but notice a sudden new direction on what is considered fashionable.

Lady Gaga took the fashion world by storm in 2009 often showcasing designs made by the late Alexander McQueen. Her dramatic performances have inspired many to become her "little monsters", which entails a dramatic and often androgynous look. Her latest video "Telephone" single handedly resurrected the true meaning of a music video, something that had not been done since the days of Madonna and Michael Jackson.

Madonna is credited to be one of the most influential figures of the 80's and early 90's. With that being said... is it safe to assume Lady Gaga is the new millennium's Madonna?
